Some fun fact about butterflies:
• Butterflies, like bees, are important as one of the major ways pollination of flowers, plants and farm crops. A butterfly is an insect.
• Butterflies are notable for their unusual life cycle with a larval caterpillar stage, an inactive pupa stage, where the caterpillar spins a cocoon of silk, and stays there until emerging with a spectacular metamorphosis into a familiar and colorful winged adult butterfly.
• Most Butterfly species fly in the daytime so they regularly attract lots of attention with their large colorful wings. |

Hi my name is Catherine and I was born in San Diego. My favorite color is green. I love lying on the green grass in our garden and looking up at the sky. It makes me feel closer to nature. My dad got me a pair of binoculars for my seventh birthday. They’re the coolest ever! With them, I can see the different types of birds and my favorite colorful butterflies in our garden. When I take my little fluffy dog Droopy for a walk, (which is the cutest dog ever, a little Cavalier!) I take along my binoculars and look at all the birds and flowers and insects around me.
In the summer my girlfriends in the neighborhood Angelie, Didi, Samara and I set up a tent in our garden. We have so much fun laughing and playing with our flashlights. At night we see the fireflies that light up the dark sky. Very groovy!
